Music Reflection 30/5/12

Today, Mr. Sadrakh ask everybody if they are done with their blog. Then we have to answer the reflections for all of the assessment we had since term 3. I didn't finish it when the class ends, so i have to stay back and finish with the others who haven't finish it too.

Music Reflection 25/5/12

Today, for the people who wants to redo for their assessment for playing the baroque song, they can redo it today. I did the redo, because i did at the first time. After the redo, i got a better score. For some people who haven't done the assessment at Wednesday, they have to do it today. Then before class ends, Mr. Sadrakh told us the score we got for all of the assessment we did this term.

Music Reflection 23/5/12

Today, we have our assessment. We have to play the baroque song sing our instrument. I didn't think i did well, because i couldn't play some notes fast. At the end of the session, Mr. Sadrakh told us who have to redo, and i have to redo. Some other students also have to redo playing their song.

Today, Mr. Sadrakh is absent so we ave a substitute teacher which is Mr. Hary. We learn about the notes and where all the notes are in the piano. We also learn how to sing or say each note correctly. I can understand the notes easily

Today, some of us practice the baroque song that they are going to play for the assessment next week. Some of us played their instrument well. I didn't have to practice this time because i already did it last week.

Today, I played my baroque song along with my instrument. I didn't play that well, because I didn't get that much practice at home. Before we play our song using our instrument, we review about the scale and each notation first.

Today, each of us practice our baroque song. Some of us didn't play today, but they we play at friday, I will play at friday. Some played very well, but some didn't played very well.

Today, we have another written yes that will help the score of the written assessment. Today's written test is open book so it's not so hard.

Today, we used the 40 minutes for the Baroque Written Assessment. I don't really remember the characteristic of Baroque Music. We used about 10 minutes to study before the assessment.

Today we read our baroque booklet. Some of us read their baroque booklet in front of the class. Some didn't use the their booklet to explain what baroque period is. We have 2 more days including today to study for the assessment about baroque.

Music Reflection 20/4/12

Today, some of us have a redo for the singing assessment. First they sing together in front of the class then their names will be called out. Some of them did better than their first try, but some did almost the same thing. After we are done with the redo, we read our baroque composer booklet, because there will an assessment about it.

Music Reflection 18/4/12

Today is the solo singing baroque song assessment. It feel very nervous when its about to be my turn. Before i didn't think it would be that hard watching my friends sing before me. I became nervous when its my turn, so i didn't think my score will be good.

Today, we practice the Baroque song Santa Lucia. First we practice it together with the whole class. It doesn't feel so hard singing it together with the whole class, so I don't think that the solo singing would be hard. Then we practice singing in front of the class by pairs, some of us don't sing the whole song.

Today is the first music class for term 4. We were given the sheet  of paper containing the things we need to do for term 4. First we need to sing a western song. We were also given the lyrics to the song we need to sing. Then we were given our score for the blogspot of term 3

Music Reflection 28/3/12

Today we were told about reflection and evaluation. The reflection and evaluation are about the blogspot. We discuss about the due date. The due date was actually last week. Some of us also redo their assessment, playing their 32 bars melody. I don't have to redo the assessment because my score is good enough. Then we need to fill in the question of the evaluation and reflection paper.

Music Reflection 21/3/12

Today we did our assessment. We need to play the song/melody we made. We need to play the song with our instrument. When i did the assessment, i didn't did it very well. I just played a bit of the song and i need to play the a major scale. I need to play the scale for a few times but in different ways. Some of us did it very well, but some of us still can't do the song fast or they stop at certain part.

Today we were asked for our reflection at some certain dates. Some of us didn't wrote it in their journal, they just wrote it in their blog. We were told that we should write the reflection on the journal then transfer it to the our blogspot. Then we were asked if we want to play our melody or the groups melody. I choose to play my melody.

Today we evaluate our the score we get for the 32 bars melody. Some was not asked to evaluate themselves.  For the one who evaluate themselves, they should tell why they think they get that score and what are their mistakes.

Music Reflection 9/3/12

Today we do our movements composition together with the song that we made. We saw each group's movements together with the song. Some of the movements are nice already but some are not they still need to practice more. We also got our score for the Baroque Booklet. I got 8/8.

Music Reflection 7/3/12

Today we heard each of the group's song. The song will be played together with a another melody the teachers made. We were also told our 32 bars melody score. I got 10 out of 10 and i am proud to get that score. I wasn't expecting to get a score as high as that.

Music Reflection 2/3/12

Today, some of us need to give their blog address, since they haven't email it to Mr. Sadrakh. We were also told which song we will play for our group. In my group we will play Andrew's song. We spent most of our time for this.

Music Reflection 31/2/12

Today we were asked who is in our group for the assessment. My group members are Andrew and Kevin. We were also told that only 1 song from our group will be played for the IDU assessment. We still have to play our song for the music assessment. Mr. Sadrakh will pick the song we will play for each group.

Music Reflection 24/2/12

Today Mr. Sadrakh is absent so Mr. Harry substitute Mr. Sadrakh. Most of us just submit the 32 bars melody today. We were told that we should make a soft copy and a hard copy. We should also email our melody too. We should also  edit some part of the melody so it will be better. We should make one line consist of only 4 bars, not less and not more. We should also add the chords of each bar.

Today we should submit our assessments. We should submit the Baroque composer booklet and the 32 bars melody. The melody can be submitted at Friday, this friday but i submit mine today. We were ask if we did our assessments first then if we did it then we should submit it.

Today Mr. Sadrakh ask us about our progress in making our assessment. Our assessment is the 32 bars melody and the blog. We were also asked about the Finale software, wether if it is working or not or have we started using the software.

Music Reflection 15/2/12

Today we should have submit the Baroque Composer Booklet, but we just got the guideline about what we shield include in our booklet today, so the due date is next Wednesday. I also got the software Finale from  music class.

Today Mr. Sadrakh tell us about the software "FINALE". We should make our 32 bars melody in the finale software. We have to print out our final melody so it will be neater and better.

Music Reflection 8/2/12

Today Mr. Sadrakh teach us how to write the 32 bars melody for our assessment. Our notes need to be according to the chords chosen by the teacher. The notes can't be too simple.

Music Reflection 3/2/12

Today we review about the chords. Most of us has remember the the notes in each chord. Then we learn about inversion. there are inversion 1 and inversion 2. Inversion is easy if we remember the chords well. It is easier to do when we are writing the notes down rather than saying it without writing it down.

Today we learn about chords. Chords aren't so difficult for me because i've learn it before. Then Mr. Sadrakh ask what the note is in each chord. Some of us is still having a hard time remembering it.

Music Reflection 27/1/12

Today we learn about the G cleff and the F cleff. We learn how to write the G cleff first then the F cleff. We focus on writing the G cleff more because it is more complicated. I learn that there are many ways of writing the G cleff. Then we learn about where we should put the different note or where the note is placed.

Music Reflection 25/1/12

Today we have our singing assessment. We should sing the Indonesian official song. Before we do our assessment we rehearse together first then we do the assessment group by group. I didn't do so well so i have to redo singing it.

Music Reflection 20/1/12

Today we check our homework we were suppose to continue from last week. Then we rehearse singing the Indonesian official song together. After rehearsing we learn about the natural scale which is:
 C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C
Then we also learn the counts between each note of the natural scale.

Today we pick our instrument we want to play/use. I chose the violin since i played the violin already for the last few years. Then we sing the Indonesian official song together. We should sing the Indonesian official song for our assessment.
